Girard Perregaux
GP is always one of the pleasant surprises of the fair and this year was no exception with one of the most exciting pieces shown at the fair which surprisingly was destined for our better halves: the cat’s Eyes tourbillon! Now who said I didn’t want to see another tourbillon?
Cat’s Eyes Tourbillon
An original form for one of the most elegant lady’s watches available, a true winner!!
Laureato Evolution 3
In the men’s watch section the new Laureato Evolution 3 was presented either with a chronograph or a perpetual calendar. A sturdy masculine watch. I really liked the rose gold model with the brown strap.
However this year was the year of the world time with 2 new models:
World Time
The WWTC sees the C taken away from its name and presented without a chronograph function. The watch nevertheless has been redesigned with a power reserve indicator and an excentered sub seconds dial. The case size goes from 43 to 41 (thank you GP for the smaller case). The watch is quite nice but I can’t seem to warm up to the subseconds and power reserve indicator and truly believe the watch would look better without them.
World Time Tourbillon under 3 Golden Bridges
What I wanted to see in the previous model I got to see in this one and what a sight!! Not only the World Time was presented with a simple dial an subseconds at 6 which in my opinion is a perfect layout but by flipping the case over you could set eyes on one of the nicest tourbillons: the tourbillon under 3 golden bridges. A sight for sore eyes and one that reconciliates me with tourbillons and sends many brands producing tourbillons back to school to learn how to make a decent one!!! Beautiful!
Tourbillon Sonnerie en Passant
A tourbillon with sonnerie en passant, date and 5 days power reserve, shipped with it own resonance stand built according to the same acustic principles as a violin.
Bonsai
Lady’s models inspired by the Vintage 45 and Richeville models.
Cat's eye
Some new cat's eye dial designs.
