François Paul Journe
FPJ’s novelties are amongst the ones I eagerly await the most to discover and this year in his habitual manner Francois-Paul took the industry by surprise by presenting two pieces : the simpelest of them all and the most complicated of them all.
Chronometre Souverain
The simplest is a beautiful Chronometre Souverain with excentered sub seconds and power reserve indication at 3 and housing a new manufacture movement in rose gold. One of the great difficulties in the execution of this timepiece was placing the power reserve indicator at 3, where according to FPJ it looked the best, but where the winding stem was also placed! Therefore the whole winding system had to be modified. I find this watch truly beautiful and for those who may find the 40mm case too big FPJ accepts to supply the Chronometre Souverain in a 38mm case.
Grande et Petite Sonnerie
Just one word : SUBLIME. What a watch ! A minute repeater with grande and petite sonneries housed in a steel case with a superb resonating chimes. A masterpiece of watchmaking with the typical FPJ style. The collector who straps this watch on his wrist will indeed be a very luck man.
